Rights are meant to be given. But unfortunately, most of us are not given our basic rights by considering them unessential for us. If the religion and constitution of our country are giving us our rights, then no one is allowed to snatch them from us. Women are the most miserable creature in this regard.
Seekers of Freedom | Bird
Freedom is the basic right of every human; no matter if it is male or female. We see birds flying freely everywhere in the sky having long flights towards their destinations without any threat of being criticized or thrown out of places. Because they have wings, so it is their right to fly. While, on the other hand, those Birds who are locked up in their cages have an equal right to fly but it is not given to them.
Likewise, in the patriarchal societies, as we have, women are the vulnerable ones; waiting for any moment to fly to the heights they could, to compete till the endpoints, to participate in the activities they are willing to. But regrettably, they are not allowed to do so. Just because they are women.
First Pakistani woman to win Nobel Prize | Malala Yousafzai
Meanwhile, in this case, freedom is considered something which brings disrespect to the family and society. But actually it is something that brings glory. The biggest lively example of it is “Malala Yousafzai,” the first Pakistani woman to win Nobel Prize. Because; her wings were not clipped off; she was let to fly by her father. Today her father is the one who is proud of his daughter.
But in our societies, the term freedom is exchanged with vulgarity and is imagined to an extent of wearing skimpy clothes, having grand gatherings with friends, and late-night dinners.
In reality, freedom is far beyond this. Freedom is not limited to one aspect. But it has multiple aspects to contemplate, like freedom of education, freedom of speech, freedom of thoughts, freedom of movement, freedom of association, freedom of the press, and freedom of information.
Political Ideology of Feminism
Freedom is the name of independence. Women need to make their decisions by themselves. They have the right to think about “ what they want to do,” they have the right to build their own opinions, to speak up, to lead the people in the right directions, to develop their societies by using their skills. Women are no less than men but still, they are treated as a bad omen.
Women waited quietly for their rights to be given to them for centuries. But it didn’t get much for them. Then women struggled on their behalf and came up with a political ideology of Feminism. Which makes it easy for women to have their rights on their own. Women should be respected and given those rights gifted by Islam to include ease in their lives. It would be a great step towards peace keeping of society then our society will be a better place to live.
