These words are well said as food is essential for life and speaking of life what can be more beautiful than a newborn life.

Nutrition and Pregnancy: Nutrient intake, and dietary planning that is undertaken before, during, and after pregnancy. Nutrition is very essential for a healthy life and when it comes to a pregnant woman its importance rises eventually.

Nutrition of fetus begins at conception thus nutrition of the mother is important from even before conception as well as throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding. estimate 24% of babies worldwide born with low weight due to lack of nutrition.

Thus, it is very important to have a proper diet include:

  • Folic acid
  • Iron 
  • Iodine
  • Omega-3 
  • Essential vitamins

An inadequate or excessive amount of some nutrients causes medical problems or neurological disorders in the fetus. Intake of alcohol and smoking also result fetal for fetus lead to further complications.

Thus, a woman needs to take nutrients and a healthy diet throughout and after pregnancy for both the baby and her own sake and wellbeing.
